13 Days / 12 Nights
Twelve nights across the plains, the crater and the coast: landscapes that stop conversation, wildlife encounters that stay with you for life, and moments of pure indulgence in between. From Arusha to Tarangire, the Ngorongoro Crater and four nights at Kuona Serengeti with your own butler, then three unhurried days on Zanzibar. Everything is included.
Book This SafariDay 1
Your guide meets you beyond the arrivals hall at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Red-earth roads, jacaranda-lined avenues and, if the clouds allow, the silhouette of Kilimanjaro set the tone on the 45-minute drive to the elegant Gran Meliá Arusha. Tonight is simply about arriving.
Day 2
After a leisurely breakfast, a guided tour of Arusha's markets, coffee lodges and everyday rhythm. If you'd like your morning to mean something more, volunteer an hour with Kafika House, a local community initiative, before a second night of comfort.
Day 3
The safari truly begins. Cultivated hills give way to golden bush and centuries-old baobabs. Tarangire is famous for its elephants, often in herds of hundreds. Arrive in time to watch the sun drop over the valley from your own vantage point.
Day 4
Wind down the crater wall into one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, where lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and, with luck, the black rhino share a single caldera. A day of held breath and raised cameras, ending on the crater rim.
Day 5
Cross the Ngorongoro Highlands as the land opens into golden grassland, perhaps with your first glimpse of the Great Migration. At Kuona Serengeti you're welcomed with song and dance, introduced to your personal butler, treated to a 20-minute massage and led to a candlelit dinner under the stars.
Day 6
A 4am start to drift silently over the waking Serengeti by hot-air balloon, followed by a champagne bush breakfast. The afternoon is free to rest, then a candlelit dinner and a cultural evening of storytelling and drumbeats around the bonfire.
Day 7
Choose your game drive (sunrise, midday or golden hour) as your guide tracks lion, cheetah and, in season, the migrating herds. As the light turns amber, a sundowner at a hidden spot with a small Kuona secret to discover.
Day 8
One last game drive if you like, or give yourself over to camp life: the pool, the lounge, a spa treatment, or an afternoon of doing nothing at all.
Day 9
A scheduled light-aircraft flight takes you from red-earth plains to turquoise water and white sand in about two hours. Arrive at Meliá Zanzibar to ocean breeze and three unhurried days ahead.
Day 10
Laze by the water, explore Stone Town's spice-scented alleys, or simply let the days blur together.
Day 11
One more day of sun, sea and slow living before the journey home begins.
Day 12
A short flight back to Kilimanjaro and a final relaxed night at Planet Lodge, close to the airport.
Day 13
Depart Kilimanjaro on your international flight, carrying home sun-warmed memories and, quite likely, plans for a return trip.
